Over the last two months, you may have noticed ATM stickers around Newham highlighting one of the world’s biggest funders of climate devastation – Barclays. Barclays is the largest European funder of fossil fuels and finances the expansion of new fossil-fuel related infrastructure. Barclays have invested £70 billion in fossil fuels and £20 billion into expansion since the Paris Agreement in 2015, including £13 billion into oil and gas fracking.
We demand that Barclays tell the truth about their active participation in the climate crisis and divest from this climate destruction. So meet Sharklays – the alter-ego of this corporate criminal. The Sharklays campaign is organised by a coalition of groups including Extinction Rebellion.
