WE WANT TO LIVE!
We invite you to go on a cycle tour of green spaces in Newham where you will experience the benefits of safe cycling and good clean air. We demand that the Council and Government make more safe spaces for walking and cycling and do more to make Newham cleaner and greener.
Call for Action
ACT NOW FOR CLEANER AIR & SAFER STREETS
We won’t get a greener, safer Newham without pressure on our representatives. Please take as many of the following actions as you can.
- Contact your MP (https://www.theyworkforyou.com/) to ask them to demand greater investment into active travel and not the road network
- Contact Newham’s Mayor Rokhsana Fiaz (mayor@newham.gov.uk) & your Councillors (https://mgov.newham.gov.uk/mgFindMember.aspx) to ask for more cycle lanes, traffic reduction & wild spaces
- Contact London Mayor Sadiq Khan on social media to demand the Mayor & TFL invest in low carbon travel & scrap the toxic Silvertown Tunnel
Route
The route starts and ends at Hermit Road Recreation Ground, Hermit Road, Newham, London, E16 4JT. You can get to Hermit Road Recreation Ground from the Greenway largely via Memorial Park. The Cycle Caterpillar route is below and the great majority is “off road” using paths and cycle paths. The route, with stops, should take around 1 hour.
